I guess his ego can't get over the fact that Clinton fired him

Clark's firing is something that looks good on his resume I'm sure.

This should be a non-issue for the Democrats. I like Clark, but he pulled a stupid there. I'd like to see him as VP, but he doesn't have to boost his military credentials that way. His rank and military experience far outweigh anything that McCain can bring to the table.

I would say any man who has survived 5 years of brutal torture in Vietnam has some perspective that even General Clark doesn't have.

Most importantly, however, General Clark is not running. And no, there is no way in hell he could be selected as a VP candidate now, so that isn't happening.

What do you think Obama's qualifications for the office are? Are you claiming he is qualified? If so, on what basis?

Of course being a fighter pilot is not a qualification for president. Hell, didnt we find this out with Bush? But if you listen to what clark said, it can be read two ways. He said being a "pilot who was shot down" doesnt qualify one to be pres. That could be read as what unclewest said in 2000 and 04 on LB thread that McCain was a lousy pilot to boot.
As for veep, he is done and i am happy about that. He reminds me too much in demeanor of General Alexander Haig. And as a general rule, i am against generals running for high office without first participating in government in some fashion like Powell, Webb etc.
Just like the unclewests on LB thread, the Teds over here just dont get it. Sure obama can win a narrow victory even if they demonize mccain. But what obama is after is a clear majority win and in the mid 300s in electoral votes. Now he is back to the obama i liked at the beginning---transformational, progressive but moderate and not a cowtower to the radical left represented by Ted.
