I don't see how anyone can get exorcised by the biblical references, which I interpreted as being there simply for fun or because they pithily make a point Theil wanted to make. A matter of style, really, but in no way substantive at all.

Not capturing the essence of the piece because of the Biblical stuff is to really miss out on very insightful comments. The piece is definitely not about religion.
