I don't know. Maybe he can, but the stakes are so high now and this country is still so full of people who are racist and blindly follow a military man like McCain, that I think a little politicking on Obama's part could go a long way to secure the nomination. My premise is that he won't lose voters like you and me and the liberal left, but he absolutely needs to attract new voters from the center who are still wavering. That may take a little move to the center on some positions. Just my cynical self coming out.
