What's a non-heroic POW? Wouldn't that be one that cracked, confessed to being a war criminal, and participated in making enemy propaganda? What's heroic about being a POW in any case? It's not a choice they made. It's a circumstance forced upon them.

John Kerry is a true combat hero. He earned his Silver Star by charging a VC regular with a B-40 rocket launcher pointed right at his boat. John beached the boat and leapt off, chasing the VC into the woods where he killed him. This was confirmed by the Vietnamese villagers in 2003 to ABC Nightline. Everything the smearvets said was a complete and total lie to defend the war-for-profit and oil in Iraq and the most corrupt bunch of thieves and rightwing radicals this country has seen since the McCarthy era. If Kerry were in the White House we would now be out of Iraq, gasoline would be at $2-3 and we'd be solving major problems. The affect of the smearvets is one of the most despicable events in US political history. Even McCain said so at the time. The real crime was that the media gave those liars equal time. But it was nothing but an evil, dirty lowdown smear campaign, and the real traitors were the smearvets themselves. PS: Bob Dole also got a purple heart for a small wound to his arm which required only a bandaid. Kerry's small arm wound resulted in his arm being in a sling for weeks. A photo of him after being wounded surfaced after the election to prove it. Kerry also volunteered for combat though he could have evaded the war like Bush-cheney both did. And Kerry was right about the torturing, atrocities, Agent Orange, napalm and other horrendous methods of "scorched earth" war policy which Nixon had put into play. We lost that war not because of the enemy or war protesters, we lost it because we turnede into the bad guys and beat ourselves. Very corrupt war too all the way through, similar to Iraq now.
