Social Security needs a slight 'fix', like Reagan did, to get to the prime earning years for the echo boomers. I believe you're even more ignorant of this subject than you are about health care. If that's possible.

I think what i-node is referring to is that pols of both parties happily spend the SS surpluses, which will mean at some point, general revenues will have to be tapped to repay those I.O.U.'s It's a dedicated tax, which would be in FINE shape, but for that. I'm for just cutting our ridiculous military expenditures to make up for the sins of the pols. There's nothing wrong with the SS system, it's the system beyond that that is broken. The boomers have the vote, and will insist that THEIR SS gets paid.
