Nope. You are wrong. The technical challenges have been met. Economies of scale can get these cars down to under $30K, which would make them mass affordable. When you sell only a few thousand a year, the costs soar, but if you sell millions, you bring the costs down VERY fast. Also, this technology isn't standing still. Every major battery maker in the world plus a few dozen startups are working on the nextgen energy storage device. Breakthroughs are coming fast and furious.

The only missing piece is a government that will get behind the industry and help it grow to break down the barriers to entry for car manufacturers and individuals alike, as well as create the proper incentives to ease the transfer, disincentives to use oil which is bad for this country, and pass standards to ensure everyone has clear direction on where we all want this thing to go.

We're missing the boat. It's unbelievable how obtuse this country is.
