I thought the Democrats would try and influence the Republican primaries by running negative ads against the "front-runners" of the time. Remember when they were Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani before Iowa?

Anyway, it's not that hard to increase the budget from $3 to $4 trillion. If you increase spending by 10% per year, you'll pretty much get there in three years.

And I'm pretty sure the Democrats can figure out many ways to spend an extra 10% per year. Heck, we saw the "party of fiscal conservatism" do it, so why not the "tax-n-spend" party?
