Most of those "volunteers" didn't volunteer to do the type of service that they've been stuck with.

They weren't TOLD that they'd have to do longer terms than they had originally signed up for. They weren't TOLD that they'd be open to a "backdoor draft".

They weren't TOLD that the Republicans wouldn't support their getting the same GI Bill benefits that previous GI's had gotten.

They weren't TOLD that if they got wounded they might have to come back to Veterans Hospitals that were moldy and scummy and were unfit for human occupation.

They weren't TOLD that if they had psychological problems they would have to wait for months to see somebody to talk to about them.

What's "holier than thou" is sending guys off to fight and treating them like dirt when they do it. Guys like Bush and Cheney and Rove and the other draft dodgers in the Republican Party who like to PLAY WAR but never wanted to actually DO WAR are the hypocrites in this deal.
