Are you saying we should Drill Offshore North Carolina, ship it to Asia to be refined then ship back to USA as oil products, just because of some stigma associated with the word "CRUDE"?

Of course not ..

I'm saying that our domestic refinery
capacity is currently 3X our domestic crude production ..
We don't need more US based refineries; as domestic crude
production increases as onshore/offshore/ANWR or anything
else is finally drilled and developed we'll supply our existing
refinery fleet with our own crude; thereby
reducing the need for ever increasing imports ..

That's why the proposed AZ refinery makes no sense ..
What's the source of crude ?? and how does it get there ??
There's an existing product pipeline to AZ .. It
makes more sense to increase the capacity of the existing
product pipeline ( if needed ) than to greenfield a refinery
and all the required infrastructure without a crude source ..

Triff ..
