I see Hagel as a very strong running mate...It would not surprise me at all to see Obama reach across the aisle and select Senator Hagel as his VP.

For a Republican to join a Democrat on the Iraq trip sends a stronger image of bipartisanship on the Iraq policy. Interesting to see if the Republicans would term this as another instance of vacillation by Obama. I bet they are working overtime to find out how they can turn it in their favor.

And only the 'good' Republicans like Hagel will be willing to work with him, making the ones who don't look bad.
