yes, PHS in China is failing badly and is targeted by many to be replaced by 2010.

Freetel in Taiwan is also PHS and looking for a new system.

China Telecom claims 54 mil PHS subscribers and China Unicom 43 mill CDMA subscribers so for China Telecom to seek to expand to 100 mill isnt much of an increase in subsribers. On the bright side at least 50 mill should be new phones.
