That isn't new. He has been pushing for a greater presence in Afghanistan for a while. The military has said it can't be done because of our commitments in Iraq. So the natural conclusion is...

FWIW, McCain has started to say the same. Except, of course, when he says the opposite. It depends on who he talks to.
