Unless I missed it, I didn't see anything in Cox's piece about what is intended to be done about the existing NSS positions. Are they to be "grandfathered"? Will be interesting to see how this plays out at any rate...

When I first started writing about these issues years ago and was branded, along with others, as a "loon," I predicted that the issue would take hold when there was a market collapse. Looks like that is happening. Once the public realizes that their retirement plans and mutual funds are underperforming because of breaks given to the industry, and they see the huge salaries and fees given to hedgie managers, we can be assured that these issues will not go away. "No such thing as manipulative shorting, paid bashing, coordinated selling, etc....." We've heard it all in attack form.
