I have a hard time grasping what the big deal is about shorts -- in the commodities or derivatives markets for instance, you can't even have a market without shorts because somebody has to be on both sides of the open interest IMO this recent mania about doing away with shorts serves only to identify and separate the population into two distinct groups: those who understand how markets work and those who don't Meanwhile, I did my part last night to support the global economy and spent $3800 on some new furniture -- I think I made the saleslady's day because the place was a tomb
