I think the polling people may have a big shock and blow to their credibility this election. They may have to come up with some new mix of methods to poll accurately.

I was just at the gym and CNN had this special program about the energy crisis. They had 4 people making up the panel. Most were from investment houses.....one was from that group "[blank] for Growth", a conservative org. that apparently wields quite a bit of power in the GOP. They went around the panel asking them why they thought the price of oil was going up. Pretty soon it became a apparent that the conservative had a different approach to the problem than the other three; that is the current GOP mantra.......drill, drill, drill our way out of the problem. He started to contradict pretty much everyone on the panel. Suddenly there was 'an explosion' between he and the rest of the panel. They broke down into a free for all. Campbell Brown had no choice but to break for a commercial. When the program came back, the panel was gone.

It brought home again how big the gap is between the two sides. The conservatives have a definite script that they pretty much all follow.......it could well be that the other side has their own script that they adhere to religiously. And the two sides are at war with each other. I think at one time the non conservatives were willing to rollover and let them have their way but no longer. Where will it all end? That's said rhetorically. At one time, I thought the schism would widen but eventually an open breach would be prevented and the wound would heal. As time passes, I grow less convinced of that conclusion.
