When you have a voluntary army and a war that doesnt demand sacrifice at home, you dont get folks giving more than a cursory glance to the sacrifices of our troops. The general attitude is that they are volunteers and they have made their choice, a noble on imo, but viewed as lackeys by others. Most folks however are ambivalent.
