Gee, I forgot people are so stupid to mortgage to the hilt and then not pay extra on their payments! I have always paid extra on my mortgage. But even if you do its still not a biggie. Buy a bigger house! LOL


One of the problems, I think, is the 30-year mortgage, which is totally an invention of the mortgage investment community. Borrowers get little for their money, but it does enable them to get over their heads.

Some time ago I decided that I would not finance a house for more than 15 years (which is probably too long, too). But they do the same thing with cars now -- at least a house can last 15, 20, or 30 years. They're now financing cars, which last 5 years if you are lucky, for 7 years. Losing proposition.
