If they had, from day 1, pushed drilling, increasing refinery capacity, remove barriers, etc. we still would have had a big price increase.

Since prices are to an extent based on perceptions of future supply and demand, not just current supply and demand, the cost increase would probably have been lower, but it still would have almost certainly been large.

Republicans are filibustering more than any party in the history of this country. They are the do-nothing, allow nothing to be done, party. What a great legacy they have left. They are directly responsible for our budget deficits and our current gas prices.
