I tend to favor more severe penalties for violence and abuse from people, rather than penalties for position of items which could be used for violent purposes.

For example with guns, I say lock up criminals when they use the gun in commission of a crime, but don't lock up people for carrying guns.

Arresting someone because they have a padlock or handcuffs, isn't IMO justified.

Personally, I'd love to see a bunch of LW nutjobs go crazy in Denver during the convention. Would be a great distraction from the Obamanation and related bloviation in the convention itself and would tend to turn off rank-and-file, blue collar dems as well as moderate independents and potential "Obamacan" crossover voters. Recreate 68? Go right ahead.
