it's already been discussed to death here and Chris digs it up a week later

You know what surprised me about Obama's magical mystery tour of the world.....it was not the swish shot in Afghanistan and the cheering troops; not Maliki 'endorsing him' in Iraq; not the 200k throng in Berlin; not his speech in the Tiergarten; not the adulation of millions throughout the world.......none of that surprised or impressed me. What blew me out of the water was his reception in Paris by Sarkozy. Sarkozy is about as right wing as the French get, and yet, he greeted him on the steps of the Elysee Palace as if Obama was a visiting president and they were old buds. I found this particularly unusual given how Sarkozy hung out at the Bush domicile in Maine last summer. I guess its true what they say.....politics make strange bedfellows.
