One good reason to stop OCS drilling is because it won't help until way into the future. However, I won't stand in the way of OCS now that I know WA state does not have oil or NG off its coastline.

Not precisely true. One of the largest methane clathrate fields in the world exists off the coast of Washington state. A&M has a large drill ship that is part of the International Offshore Drilling Program and the pulled some cores there a few years ago as part of a grant to assess the field.
