>>>I am not a tax expert and am not about to give out specific tax advice. There's an entire industry that does that.<<<

Nothing personal here, but.....

To suggest that tax advice is an industry is an insult to anyone who actually goes to work and produces something consumable. Part of the reason our economy is in the tank is that a great number of very bright well educated people waste their time and produce nothing by pursuing tax minimization techniques. Similarly, many, many productive hours are lost by intelligent well educated people who actually produce things but can't understand how to do their taxes. Both sets would contribute much more to humanity by filling the potholes in the road in front of my house than by completing tax forms.

End of rant.

Ok, I'll be the one here to cry foul. I'm sure there are disbelievers beyond zeus. You can't brag about how you legally escape paying taxes and then not explain any of your techniques.

I know you mentioned that you're going back to school, and you get an education credit. Your profile says you're retired, so my guess is that your income doesn't put you in the highest marginal bracket.

So, what is the problem with sharing a couple of your tax ideas here in this forum? Surely some of the people here have helped you to make money.

C'mon - if it's legal, you can share your tax strategies with the thread. We don't want to know every tiny detail, just the executive summary.
