Dan, > Given the way they blanket the earth with variations on their CPUS, why would they leave this hole in their line-up, other than the obvious reason - because they don't have the technology? That all depends on whether you consider that to be a "hole." Cause you know, there is a huge segment of the market that is demanding triple-core CPUs that run slower and hotter than dual-cores, but can't live up to quad-cores. Tenchusatsu

AMD sells their "3/4 Phenoms", ("Cripple cores", as they are widely referred to as in the marketplace), because they HAVE TO. AMD does not want to throw away most of their Phenom products .... It is simple. Remember .... "All X3's start life hoping to be X4's" (A dog with 3 legs can still limp along).
