Not really. On some things, like abortion, yes. But on health care and Iraq, absolutely not.

Ted, having never lived in a "red state" in my life (with the exception of the Reagan years), I can't say how the Dems won in the South and Midwest.

From what I hear, though, the Dems ran as pseudo-conservatives.


They were more conservative than some Dems. A couple were pro life but for the most part they were typical Dems.
