Also a dash of salt, some raisins, and splenda.

This is an easy place to get in your cinnamon.

Combine a skillet of that with a piece of their roast chicken

Those $5.99 roast chickens are the bomb. They have become the centerpiece of my weekly diet ritual.

I usually pick one up on Monday or Tues for 3 days of meals. Along with the chicken I pick up a bag of lettuce and 2 lbs. of chopped vegetables from the deli salad bar for $4.00/ lbs.

Then we eat big salads which are mostly raw veggies, nuts and cheese, a little lettuce, olive oil and a portion of chicken. Replaces a lot of the starch that we used to eat.

No cooking...no muss no fuss. We get 3 suppers and 2 lunches size portions out of each bird for 2 people.

Its an easy 1500 calorie day doing this 3 times a week. If we do get tired of just eating the chicken cold in a salad...we sometimes stir fry it on the last day...just to switch things up.

But you can't make the chickens for $5.99 yourself...and the misses loves the no-cook benefit.

I think I may try your no wheat no sugar idea.

I think packaged foods are destroying people's health. If you look at the ingredients, it's hard to get anything without sugar.

Rice and oatmeal are two of my favorites. They're easy to fix and cheap too.
