Re: Anand's Larrabee article:

Anyone share the same feeling of incredulity I had at viewing this chart from page 6?

Simultaneously very specific and yet so very generic, enough to be content-free and yet claim almost perfect linear scaling vs. number of cores.

Fixed memory bandwidth... Ring bus... Driver/algorithmic scaling... Doesn't matter, just keep throwing more cores in there!

Unbelievably impressive if Intel has implemented enough Larrabee software to run these games, enough to be confident in these numbers.

Gotta wonder what magic blue crystals Intel has invented to solve one of the hardest problems in contemporary computer science.

IMHO, Anand's gushing expectations are so high that they'll be impossible to meet.

Interesting to note that they will present their paper on Aug 12, the day of Nvidia's earnings.

Intel has no power to pick the day of their Siggraph
presentation. No Siggraph author has any power in
this regard. So no conspiracy at work here.

nVidia may have chosen to present results during Siggraph
due to the timing of other announcements they may
make at the conference.
