... if we would have developed Anwar when Clinton vetoed the plan ...

And if the Bush administrations (Federal and Florida) hadn't paid 3 oil companies NOT to drill off the coast of Florida in 2004, would that have made any difference?! ;-)

... if the liberals think releasing 10 days of oil from SPR is a great relief to prices...

Well, that's because they think that high oil prices are due to speculation (which was a stupid theory that the regressives had held for sometime, and parroted again and again on CNBS etc. - I don't know when the Democrats decided to borrow that one!)

If high oil prices were merely due to speculation, then a release from the SPR would unwind it all and send the speculators packing. But it is not due to speculation, and that is why I had already said that it releasing oil from SPR is a stupid idea. Unless of course, the Democrats were trying to pre-empt the Republicans from doing the same thing in October. But I don't think the Democratic leadership (which has rolled over and played dead on every major issue) can think of cunning and clever schemes like that!

Nobody knows hou much we are going to produce until we start producing it.

Now, there's a mystery aspect to it, eh? Why do we even have geologists, hydrologists and other scientists in the Department of Energy? Maybe we should fire them all and replace them with talking heads playing with Ouija boards?! ;-)

I am a big conservationist... some of the first causes I gave money to as a kid were wildlife funds. 25¢ or my $1 allowance went to Cal trout since I liked to fish... Today, on and off as needed, I donate time to write letters and go to meetings to help "save the Bay" here so we can use it for recreation rather than development for more office space and homes... etc.... My last donation was $100 to a park system in a neighboring county since I like their parks and they needed funds for a project that I'd benefit from.

With that said, the liberal fanatics who don't have a clue are only exceeded in stupidity by some of the Brinker shills who continue to harass the critics after we've been PROVEN to be right about Brinker's business model for the past decade.

I've met and talked with fanatics who will fight you tooth and nail for a 100 sq ft patch of "wild pickle weed" we used to use to rig windsurfing sails on while they let developers at the very same time develop hundreds of acres of the same habit just a few miles away. Pave over 100s of acres vs. walk on a few square feet..... When I made friends with some and asked why they waste their time harassing "friends" over silly little patches of land while they are getting crushed in the big battles, it was because it was a battle they could win.... sickening...

These types of people, who sit in trees the University of California planted less than a hundred year ago to fill space until they needed the land .... waste so much time and energy... just because they can make noise and hurt the University. Sort of like dija/octavian lying about things just because he knows it pisses people off.

So... what that ramble concludes is expecting environmental Nazi's to make sense or be reasonable is about as insane as expecting the handful of Brinker shills here to listen to reason and accept the evidence Brinker is NOT going to change and he's been "running the same game" on people without change for a long, long time. I think it is why we gave up on Nuclear power... easier to keep doing what we are doing, burning coal and oil.... even if it poisons us.
