add in a 19 % value added tax on sales and service and you will see NY is no where near euro

top combined tax rate in NYC would be 47% plus an 8.5% percent sales tax.

top euro rate is around 50% (some countries are much more some much less)plus a 19 percent sales and service tax.

add in an average price of 10$ a gallon on gas.(due to tax)

as to direction ,please show that the poll is tax specific.

ps i dont think anyone wants more taxes....but they might realize they are necessary

The citizens of the state of NY endure a total tax burden, including federal, state, local, fees, real estate taxes, etc, similar to a citizen of an EU country

They also have a lot of requirements for insurance that greatly inflate the cost of health insurance.
