Putin is expecting Obama to win and he knows Obama is an empty suit.

Now would not be a bad time for Putin to push the issue. We can't do anything, and this isn't really a NATO issue. So any sort of military response is out of the question, not that it really was on the table in the first place. We can't put economic pressure on them, nor can anyone else. And there really isn't a lot left. Oh, we can stamp our feet and bluster but that is about it.

Actually, I think Georgia is a part of NATO. Nope. I just checked. I was wrong.

Bastard. He's actually bombing Georgia now.....not just S. Ossetia. The Ukraine was smart to have joined NATO. He'll go after them next.

For two years now, I have worried about what was happening in Russia. Now its all happening. Scheisse!

If this conflict prevails for some time to come, no doubt we'll soon see some explosive tile breaking anti tank weapon of US origin trained on the Russian tanks and their active protection.
A perfect site for that exercise, the latest US anti tank defense vs. the latest Russian tank protection.

That is if Russia and US would indeed expose their very latest technologies, which I seriously doubt.
