Yes. I started with oatmeal. I also used to eat a combo of dry flax seed, wheat bran, wheat germ, and oat bran moistened with a bit of yoghurt. After having given up grans, I moved my flaxseed to applesauce, later to cottage cheese. Were I to eat grains again, I'd probably just eat the oatmeal (with flaxseed) uncooked. It's pleasant enough that way and I'm lazy about cooking. I like the gritty texture and flaxseed doesn't have much taste so I don't feel like I have to hide it something.

I am throwing in a generous dash of grape seed oil when I cook my oatmeal in the microwave. Then I add cinnamon, raisins, walnuts, and I eat it with skim milk. Delicious.

Don't know what flax seed oil tastes like. But grape seed oil has a very pleasant flavor (to me at least). I am now mixing it with olive oil when I cook and in salads.
