Well I hinted at the same when being in the region, but in a more subtle way - the quiet after my question and the lengthily response with many accusation and pointing how the World do not understand the situation - I understood very quickly that I better keep my mouth shut learn more about the region history and look after my business.

Same with an Americanized Assyrians clients in NYC I better learned their heritage and admired it than going into politics. As a result I was very welcomed in their home and to date we have a very friendly relationship – same with Albanians living in the US and so on

The people of the area are very grateful if you are compassionate about the injustice done to them by the great powers during the last 200 or more years than starting to be an arbitrator.

All those people have suffered a lot at the hand of the Ottomans, Arabs, “His Majesty Forces”, Russian, and you name it and always where betrayed again and again by the temporary empires sweeping their lands.

To enable control of the region, those powers always turned one small nation against the other and therefore the simmering animosities to this day the sad part is that Stalin mastered and excelled in this method of turning brother against brother.

It is in my opinion that they are yearning for peace and quiet and lack of interference from outside forces. A huge mistake was done by letting the Red Army be the arbitrator in Abkazia and S. Ossesia as their goal was not peace keeping but keeping Russian influence alive in the region.

We need a Kennedy who faced Russian in Cuba and Berlin with the risk of a new world war – or Reagan who drained Russia resources until their collapse.

Wonder if Bush has the guts get on the plane and fly NOW to Tbilisi for consultation and solidarity and who else from all those "fancy" so called world leaders of democracy will join in!! and oppose the invading Red Army - then we will see Putin caving in!! - because Putin is to selfish and afraid for his life exactly like Stalin

Russia is a relative small country between Ukraine the Baltic States, Belarus and Ural Mountains the rest of Russia was conquered and for most of the years laid to waste (this is why they sold Alaska to the US) until they discovered the huge natural resources in Siberia.

Population of Russia is fewer that of Indonesia or Brazil or about that of Nigeria – Would the world let Nigeria take over all or even a small part of Africa? … and yes I know India and China are bigger than the US
