The good news: Over 33,000 people have already signed on to buy the new GM Volt when it comes out in 2010.

The bad news: They are only willing to pay $31K for the car, but it costs GM $40K to build each one:

Link didn't work, but....

My first PC cost $2K and had a 30 meg hard drive (can't remember the mhz). I imagine first year production won't be terrific, so there will probably be plenty of early adapters to sop up the production. As time goes on quality and price will both improve.
