I agree with your concerns, Bob. My CLL stake was tiny a few years ago; now it's mid-sized and taxable if I sell, so I have tucked it away to see what happens the next few years. Ideally I'd like a bigger fish to buy CLL, leaving me with stock in the new owner and no tax bill.

I wouldn't back up the truck in CLL with the current climate of uncertainties.
