Ted, > Its very sad you have to ask that question.

No Ted, it's sad when you blame Bush for just about everything bad that happens in the world.

Even Russia invading a tiny democracy is considered by you to be "Bush's failure." Why don't you tell us how President Gore or President Kerry could have prevented this from happening?

What do you think provoked the president of a very small, weak country to attack the honey pot sitting on the bear's front stoop?

They would not have had our military tied up pretending that the criminal actions of Bin Laden was some kind of war that could be bombed into a solution. Bush Jr. has the military so tied up that Russia has decided to show the world (and particularly East Europe) just how weakened Bush Jr. and Cheney have left us.

Recognizing that Russia has been rolling in money the past few years, upgrading their military and complaining about how the US is operating in that region would be a start. Looking into to Putin's eyes and talking about his soul probably wouldn't have been a priority.

Russia has been issuing warnings for years. We have been ignoring them for years. Suddenly, we are shocked, shocked I tell you, when Russia finally stops talking and starts acting.

You know, they have been building up their troops on the border with Georgia since the first of the year. A president with some degree of awareness would have had their top analysts for that region studying it since then.
