Its easy to sell something made from the coco bean. Coke found that out early on in their business. Even after they took the cocaine out of it they were left with sugar water. Neither needed a lot of ads early on. Selling chocolate became a no-brainer once the price got right. Lots sold it out of their house. The dope dealer on the street doesn't advertise but seems to stay busy. Selling drugs, sugar water, or chocolate is different from selling alfalfa sprouts and pomegranate juice. Herschel should have known better.

The D'Lights I'm talking about went out of business over 15 years ago. The one today has the same name but has a different business model. I don't think people were ready for fast food organic style restaurant 20 years ago. It may have been an idea before its time. I think it would go over better today.

Once I was standing around with some guys and one said that there were French Restaurants and Korean, Greek, Amish, Mexican, and many more from other countries. He wondered why there were no Indian(Native American) Restaurants?(sorry SiouxPal I'm just retelling the story) Another guy thought and said, hell, what would they serve? Raw corn and eagle wings? He got a few laughs so he kept going. Bark and buffalo hind quarters? Creek water and grass salad? It got pretty silly before it finally ended but I think that is what a lot of people think of when you say organic.

OTOH I always thought the indians were pretty healthy pre-white man. So why not add some of the things they were eating to our diet. I remember with interest when you mentioned pemmican. Figure out whats best from each culture and put that together for meals. Organic will work in the right setting with the right people.
