then vote for budget cut..State and city budget is not very different than family budget. If state cannot get more money from tax, then they have to cut their service. So far no group is willing to take the hit and we are stuck on the budget process. As a state, we are spending way beyond our mean (much like our Fed government) and one way or the other we will have to take the hit to have a balance budget. I don't think Arnold is the one to blame here.. We just have a strong spending habit and a stonger lobby groups that there is no spending that state legislature don't like.

I am retired too and my retirement plan from my company consist of roughly 1 yr of my final year salary because they changed the plan from defined benefit to defined contribution after I worked for the company for 17 years (and I retired when I hit 21 years mark 1 1/2 yrs ago). So I share your frustration...
