The first part is a certainty as housing and big ticket items related to it remain way below trend for a very long time. Not so certain of the second part going forward especially as the rest of the world slows and drops short term rates, we phase out of Iraq and the new administration attempts to lower the deficit.. So folks interpreting dropping commodity prices as deflation or depression might be looking in the wrong place yet again<g>
