Ok, thanks for your comments. Maybe in the VERY long term, your optimism will prove correct. However your previous post stated "has now", rather than in the long term.

In my opinion, such comments as "Pakistan has now a bright future" should be posted on another board rather than on "The Financial Collapse of 2001 and Beyond" board. What we have actually seen in Pakistan since "2001 and Beyond" is a case study of true Financial Collapse.

What I see is high inflation, a slowing economy, rising unemployment, an incompetent government, inability of the poor to pay rising food costs (i.e. rising hunger), and now a Pakistani military that will likely no longer be able to resolve conficts brought on by the these other factors.

What I see: "Pakistan's history is one of turbulence as the norm with brief interludes of stability and hope. Alternating civilian and military governments have competed in a race to drive Pakistan to ruin and break-up. Instead of consolidating and expanding institutions of good governance, they have systematically hollowed them out, with the significant exceptions of the military and the elite bureaucracy."

The situation in Pakistan will likely get much worse before it gets better, do you not agree...? It matters not whether "our son of bitches" or "your son of bitches" because not any son of a bitch can resolve the current problems in Pakistan without worsening financial collapse in the near term. I will not be holding my breath for Pakistan having a bright future "now" or anytime soon.

Just trying to keep the moderator of "The Financial Collapse of 2001 and Beyond" on topic rather than turn this board into The Peace & Prosperity in 2008 and Beyond board... LOL
