McCain has consistently opposed Roe v. Wade as far as I know. There was a story out of SF that claimed otherwise in '99, but in '98 it was documented. I've seen no evidence that he has changed his position. It certainly isn't recent if so.Or was against torture and waterboarding and now supports it? As the only person in the race who has been tortured and is physically disabled as a result, he absolutely opposes torture and waterboarding, always has, always will. As I pointed out earlier, you cannot refer to the way either candidate voted on legislation UNLESS such legislation was standalone without other provisions which is almost never the case.Or opposed Bush's tax cuts and now supports them? I don't think that would be a flip flop. He consistently opposes increasing taxes.Or courted contributors to Bush's campaign that he called "dirty"? Again, not a flip flop. When you're running for office, you'll take votes from anyone. So does Obama.Or abandoned his very own campaign reform bill? In what respect?Or was opposed to ethanol and now supports it? Oh, wait, he has flip-flopped on that one recently... Perhaps, but not a major item. And can be justified in terms of higher gas prices. But if you want to call this a flip, okay.Sigh. The point is that McCain has seldom changed positions, as I've shown above, and when he has, they're minor flips. Obama has flipped on core issues, any one of which disqualifies him for the presidency as not having political courage or backbone. Man, you're easy to just run over.
