There are many times where the ends justify the means, even when the means do real damage. Your house is on fire. The fire dept comes and sprays thousands of gallons of water on it. Now, you have a home that is half burnt and half waterlogged. Despite the immense water damage, you are grateful. Your house has been saved. You have cancer. One of the leading treatments is to irradiate your body, which causes massive health issues, including losing your hair, intense nausea, sterility, and other side effects. Despite the damage to your body, you are grateful. Your life has been saved. The Allies are beating back the Germans. Part of their strategy is massive bombing of the industries in Germany and other occupied countries. This bombing results in enormous lose of civilian life, and untold damage to property and infrastructure both in Germany and occupied countries. Despite this innocent lose of life and damage, we are grateful. A murderous tyrant has been defeated. In many times, the ends DO justify the means. I believe this is such a case. Today's election cycle is not about the normal to and fro of political power; it is about defeating a dangerous ideology that has threatened our nation, damaged our relationship with the world, devastated the middle class economy, and introduced a dangerous theocratical cultism to our government. I believe adopting a small fraction of the tactics used to get these goons into power will result in an end that justifies the means.
