Walking is now up to 55 minutes per day 6 days per week.

Wow, those are terrific results! Where I am deficent is in the walking. Trying to make up for it on the dance floor. Wednesday night at Coconut Willies I had five ladies at the table who kept me busy and it will be the same tonight. :>)

I use 1% milk because I can't find a taste difference. If I go all the way to skim it tastes like white water on my oatmeal.

As you know if you read the thread, I am a follower of Davis's "get rid of wheat" philosophy. It seems to be the best way to attack HDL, Triglicerides, small LDL and Lipoprotein {A}.

Week 16 of my plan. Lost 3 more pounds since week 10.

Lost a total of 18 pounds from 192 to 174. BMI is now 27.1

15 more pounds to go to reach the goal of BMI of 24.9 at 159 pounds.

I actually took the time to measure my height, and I'm shorter than I used to be. Which also means I started this plan while obese at 30.1 BMI(ughhh)...and it means I have farther to go to reach my goal <25 BMI.

The weight loss is from lifestyle and nutrition changes I have made. So I know I can do it...it will just take some more time and sticking to the plan which has become a habit.

My plan is nothing more than walking regularly, restricting calories to 1500 per day, and replacing starches and carbs with veggies and lean meat when possible. I'm not a nut about it...and I don't worry about the occasional bad meal.

As I read this thread, I keep incorporating the best ideas and eliminating my biggest sins when possible.

Everybody has to adjust things to what works for them, but there are plenty of great ideas floating around here that are very useful.

Thanks to the thread for the inspiration.

P.S. Although she won't let me divulge her personal information ;-)...my girlfriend has been doing her own plan as well with similar results. So thats two people from this household with a big "thumbs up" for this forum.

We also take Vitamin D and fish oil in range with what Dr.Davis talks about and have noticed considerable reduction in BP ...which is probably due to all of the above.

There is no proof, but I'm pretty sure we have already slashed our chances of a bad health event in our immediate future, both being in our late 40's.
