What I like about this pick is it moves the ANWR/Alaskan energy issue to the front burner where it belongs.

If we go the Obama route, there is no hope, we might as well sign off on the decline of American prosperity to Russia, the Middle East and other oil rich nations, because, we don't have the will as a nation to stand-up to the Global Warming radicals long enough to free ourselves from dependency.

At least now we have hope Governor Palin can talk McCain into "seeing the light" on ANWR.

This is the defining moment on this issue. We simply cannot afford another 4 or 8 years of grid-lock on energy. We must free ourselves as a nation from the special interest groups who have locked up America's VAST resources of energy.

would you want a person who 2 years ago was mayor of a 5000 person Alaskan town playing poker with Putin using nuclear weapons, the world's energy future and state terrorism as chips?

Amazingly to me, Obama's campaign put out a similar statement.

I dunno, a popular reforming governor who ran against much of her own party strikes me as a ton more executive experience than a freshman senator who got elected the Chicago Way when somebody leaked his opponent's divorce records, and who has never reformed anything anywhere.

Does the Obama campaign have no self-awareness? Do they really think "I may have little experience, but my vp is more experienced than your vp" is going to work as a line of attack?

I love the smell of desperation in the morning

Me too.

..............I see her as transparent pandering to women

And Biden was a transparent pander to white males.

and, and pro-life conservatives.

And Catholics.

A desperate attempt to shake up the election dynamics.

Boy did it ever work. Go to any liberal forum and Palin is all they can talk about. Sure they hate her, but they hate all conservatives so thats to be expected. Nobody is talking about Obama anymore.

If (god forbid) McCain has medical issues, would you want a person who 2 years ago was mayor of a 5000 person Alaskan town ...

As opposed to a guy who was sat in Jeremiah Wrights pews for 20 years, who was voting Present and then going off to ask Tony Rezko advice about buying a house, who was pals with the same guy for years and never knew his buildings were shoddy and frequently unheated in the winters, who as Chair of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge blew through $150M with no achievements to show for it?

The Republican VP candidate is at least as qualified to sit in the Oval Office as the Democratic Presidential candidate.
