She impresses me as someone who can step up to a challenge and do the right thing. She has executive Government experience and has handled it well IMO.

Your foreign affairs (Iraq) point is a good one and needs to be explored. She may be a complete idiot with regards to international relations and Military leadership for all I know. She might be completely savvy on the other hand. This is important to some extent but McCain is knowledgeable and capable in this area and that is his job, not hers.

This Palin news at least puts some freshness into our discussion topics. The next few weeks will be much more exciting than if one of the usual suspects had been selected.

I've got to go do stuff now.

Take care all,

The "Lower 49s" to most Alaskans is a foreign country per se. They are disconnected from us...and vice-versa. >>>She has been quoted as saying that she has not paid much attention to the Iraq war, that she is too focused on state issues.<<<

Keep comparing the Dem Presidential candidate to the Republican Veep candidate. Most will conclude she's at least as qualified as he is, many will say more so. She actually has executive experience.

she is already being called the Dan Quayle of current politics - an incredibly misguided pick since McCains entire case against Obama was experience. Do they actually think Hillary voters will defect to this lightweight? Its amazing really. I think this was a Carl Rove pick, he seems to have completely self destructed. She might, repeat might, appeal to the far right of the party but those are not the people McCain needed to WIN. He needs the swing states. Palin is offensive.
