The junior senator wouldn't be expected to do much except show up and vote how she is told most of the time, which is pretty much what she would do as VP too, unless McCain suddenly croaks and she is surrounded by people saying, OK, how do we run the country now? Are you ready to be in charge? Actually, I think that is how many Republican Old Men like it--then they can tell the person in charge how to run things for their benefit. What kind of person do you think they have now? It has worked spectacularly well for a certain segment of the Republican base, in terms of increasing their net worth. For the moment at any rate. Even despite the declining dollar as the rest of the world takes note of what this administration has done. Although at some point the declining dollar will get them too, unless they start living in some other country. All of them can't put their money in foreign currencies without even more seriously damaging this country.
