I went and listened- Carter talked about Obama growing UP as a black boy- it was an unfortunate choice of words as it obviously enabled some racists, but it was not used the way you saw it used here. I am sorry I didn't pull the quote up on Youtube before I posted- but I had to borrow my husband's computer to see it, since mine is acting up. You could see Carter pause looking for the right words to express himself (age catches up to us all, obviously)- and though his choice was unfortunate, his meaning was in no wise along the same lines as the post I posted here.
