If people vote their wallet, McCain will surely lose. Obama's program cuts taxes and subsidizes the bottom 90% far more than McCain's, and still, theoretically, results in much smaller deficits. The question is can Obama get the message out. Another question: can't McCain see this? Is catering to the top 1%, who have been the overwhelming winners of globalization, so important to him?

All Obama would have to do to increase revenues by a vast amount (in addition to levying higher taxes on the rich - which is only fair) is hire 1000 new IRS agents to track down uncollected taxes. I have read that this amounts to hundreds of billions of dollars.
