My guess is that nearly every household in America has had this same situation happen either in their own immediate family

My sainted white hair mom shared some of the family secrets with me a couple of weeks back.(I guess at the age of 56, she figured I could handle it)....Anyway, one of my aunts had a child without the benefit of a husband back in the 1940s.....gasp. She talked about it being quite the scandal at the time, as opposed to the local high school here, where it is not uncommon to see girls pushing baby carriages as they head for class.

She hinted that a couple of her aunts(circa 1920) had been quite the rounders in their youth....who knows, that might even had included having a smoke and beer now and then.

With counseling, I'm sure I'll recover....;>)

To me, my children are the most wondrous creations. I cannot comprehend not rejoicing in any new life in my family. And I cannot comprehend not loving and caring for that new life even if any or all of my family has some difficulty. I would pray that all my family feel the same way. And I would love them still even if they did not.

And there is no "what if it was a result of" that changes the simplicity of the fact that all children are born wondrous creations.
