I'm not a Brooks fan. But I read the first two or three paragraphs of his columns to see whether they might be worth reading further, ready to stop with each paragraph. I read this one to the very end. I don't know enough about Palin to agree or disagree with his judgments about her competence but he does appear to have nailed at least one negative in the McCain selection process.
