I'm confused. Are they STILL claiming Trig is the daughter's child or is this part old? Are they claiming the daughter had a baby and immediately got pregnant again?

The interview was totally fair," Brown said. "I was trying to get an answer. I was persistent, but I was respectful. That's my job. Experience is a legitimate issue when John McCain raises it about Obama, and it's also legitimate for us to raise it about Palin."

and yet they are not raising 'it' about obama...

easily explained by the fact of course, the correct interpretation of 'us' is 'we (the msm) and the obama camp'

Major newspapers, magazines and networks no longer play their traditional gatekeeper role in the digital age, as was evident during the eight-month period when the National Enquirer was charging former senator John Edwards with fathering an out-of-wedlock baby. Most national news outlets did not report the allegations until last month, when Edwards acknowledged an affair with a former campaign aide but denied being her child's father.

This hardly means that the MSM isn't still trying to be the gatekeeper, or what do you call nearly a year of total radio silence on the issue? It just means that their power to succeed in all cases has vanished. They still obviously can be a big help to candidates they favor.

I agree there will be a backlash over the Palin coverage. Republicans will be appalled and even more energized; and independents will want a chance to make up their own minds. Even Democrats will recognize the sexism involved. Ironically, this press flap may help Gov. Palin, by setting up low expectations for her as a knuckle-dragging Neanderthal of some kind. We know the press will cover her speech! That may be all the opportunity she needs.

You gotta love a quote like that. Campbell Brown evidently regards herself as part of the Obama campaign.
