"On this, I completely disagree. Losing against militarily guerillas (however ruthless they were) is a CHOICE for a country like the US, that is 1,000x as strong militarily."

Both calling for a timetable and showing steadfastness forced the sunnis in anbar to stand up. Neither would have worked alone. I think we both sort of agree on all of this. If we do, we have made iraq a non-issue for the presidential campaign as candidates positions converge. Neither BDS or labelling democrats as defeatniks will work for either campaign. Iraq will evolve first with us and then without us. Sunnis should make it. Kurds should too. And hopefully shiaa in their new majority position will be better rulers than sunnis were. Its interesting that bidens three state solution which was a fall back position of mine when i thought we were losing seems so stupid now. Iraqi arabs want one state and the kurds need iraq to keep themselves from becoming part of the turkish sphere of influence now that the russians have reintroduced that language back into the worlds equation.

On this, I completely disagree. Losing against militarily guerillas (however ruthless they were) is a CHOICE for a country like the US, that is 1,000x as strong militarily.

Obama and the Dems consciously made the choice to lose.

You could not be more correct on this point. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama all made the choice to lose, and it was our good fortune it wasn't their call to make.
